ad ideas

My partner, Helen and I stumbled upon many ideas for our magazine ad series and narrowed it down to 2 final ideas that we cant choose only 1 from. Perhaps you guys can help us make that decision. So her idea will be posted on her blog. It's about a teeth whitening toothpaste. Here is the link to her blog. Helen

Ok so for my idea, I had a few but I think one of the better ones was an ad for a Nikon digital slr camera. I haven't chosen which model yet.

A brief history about Nikon:
Nikon is a multinational corporation. It was founded in 1917 as Nippon Kogaku Kogyo and renamed Nikon Corporation, after its cameras, in 1988. Nikon is one of the major companies of the Mitsubishi Group. Its products include cameras, binoculars, microscopes, and measurement instruments.

Target audience:
Basically anyone who is interested in photography. Such as, photographers, journalists, graphic designers, also non-professional people who like to take great quality photographs as a hobby or for the family album. I would say around the ages of 18-45

Competition:

Nikon's main competitors include Canon, Casio, Kodak, Sony, Pentax, Panasonic, Fujifilm and Olympus. Currently, Nikon's only competitor in high-end camera systems is Canon.

Strategy:
For my main idea, which will have 3 series, I've decided that I want to show the image in the digital camera window look way better than the actual scenery its taking a photograph of. For example, there is the image on the page of a house that is old, beaten up, the grass is brown and broken window and stuff, and when you see the image in the camera, it looks like a brand new house with green grass and fixed window. And then there is the tag line that will read something along the lines of "Capture the true beauty."

Visual Style:
I wanted to use mainly their signature yellow and black and also a little bit white negative space area. I wanted to for sure use the camera in there as well as a clever caption or tag line that will go with the images.
